No Special Skills Required!


You don’t need special skills or abilities to be a participant.  We need children, teens, adults and seniors alike for a variety of roles. 


 Children 13 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.


What We Are Building:


Our job will be to construct 1 house frame - the basic walls and infrastructure - in ONE weekend in the Marist parking lot. The structure will then be transported to TROUP COUNTY Habitat for Humanity in LaGrange, Georgia for Tornado Relief.  They will coordinate the completion of the house. The home will then be dedicated and given to a family in need.

When and Where: Friday, April 14th – Saturday, April 15th, 2023


During the weekend, we will do more than build a house. We will pray, laugh, renew old friendships, and build new relationships.


 


PREPARERS: Measure and cut lumber (Friday only).


CREW LEADERS: Oversee work crews  (Fridayat 6:30 and Saturday all Day).


FIRST AID STATION: Be available if needed in our first aid area.


FOODIES: Help plan, prepare, or distribute food.


PROMOTERS: Get the word out with Marist Community:


                        (ie. Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Students and their families.)


CLEANERS: Help keep area neat and safe during and after event.


FLOATERS: Help out with miscellaneous duties throughout event.



Weekend Schedule:

FRIDAY, April 14th


2:40 - 4:00PM - Project Set-Up


4:00 - 6:30PM - Measure and Cutting


6:30 - 8:00 PM - Crew Leader Training


 


SATURDAY, April 15th


8:00 AM - Check in


8:30 AM - Opening Prayer & Info 


9:00 AM - Build Begins

11:30 AM - Lunch & Write Blessings
                 on the frame of the home.


1:00 PM - Prayer Service/Bless home.


1:30 PM - Load House for transport.


2:30 PM - Clean up


 


Bring your own work gloves, wear close-toe shoes and dress in layers to stay warm or cool.

I have been given permission to attend and participate fully in the House Build Event at Marist High School. I/We hereby release and save harmless Marist High School and any and all of its employees from any and all liability to my son/daughter as a result of this activity. Marist High School often sends photographs of, and information relating to, its students, and events in which these students participate into area newspapers and other publishing organizations. MHS, on its own, often publishes photographs of, and information relating to, its students, individually or collectively, throughout the Marist School facilities, on social media sites (the MHS website, on Facebook, on Instagram, on twitter, etc.) and in newsletters, post cards, ads, brochures, etc. for purposes of promoting Marist High School and its students.
